PC and other devices are able to use double side SIMMs in most of the cases.  EDO RAMs work very similar to FPM RAMs and it have the ability to work within a page like FPM RAMs. The primary advantage with EDO RAMs over FPM RAMs is that EDO RAMs hold the data valid even after the signal that "strobes" the column address goes inactive. This allows faster microprocessors to manage time more efficiently, performing many tasks without having to attend to slower memory. Some Amiga turboboards and some PCs are able to use these advantages. Some times there is compatibility with EDO, but devices can't take advantage of.

Memory chips are in both sides (double side), but the SIMM is extremely flat (some times more that a single side SIMM). Depending of your socket, you will be able to plug-in or not.

In Amiga computers, this memory are plugged in accelerators (also named turboboards) or other expansion cards usually. The most of the turboboards are compatible with double side SIMMs. 70ns is the common speed. 60ns take advantage of some accelerators models as Blizzards or PPCs.
